Jev vs Claude Haiku 4.5 — a Tetris race

Jev vs Claude Haiku 4.5 — a Tetris race I had Jev and Claude Haiku 4.5 play Tetris, racing to clear 20 lines first. Identical piece sequence and starting board for both Each move, the engine enumerates the legal placements and asks only "which of these (up to 12) do you pick?" The piece drops the instant the answer comes back — so the pause before each drop is the thinking time On the left, Jev drops almost non-stop. On the right, Haiku pauses about a second per move. Haiku produces its answer as generated text, while Jev doesn't write text at all — it returns a probability over the given options. The video is one match, but I ran 10 games per side: Reached 20 lines: Jev 8/10 · Haiku 9/10 (turns out AI misses too ) Time to clear: Jev ~19s · Haiku ~76s (~4× faster) Thinking time per move (median): Jev 0.25s · Haiku ~1.0s Estimated cost per game: Jev $0.006 · Haiku $0.15 (~25× cheaper

We integrated Jev in our chat on public data for Bulgaria (elections, procurements, budgets, politicians etc).Umm, will gather better data when my OpenAI token budget resets tomorrow, had to tinker a bit.Hi everyone, I just wrote up a small experiment testing TypeSafe’s Jev as a trusted and cheaper monitor alternate for AI Control.
